Presentation is very important when capturing the attention of a wide range of audiences, from commercials to education, technology and all other types. The most persuasive method of capturing these audiences is through visual content in the form of video presentations.
There are many different platforms available on the Internet that can guide and assist in the production of video presentations. PowToon and Vyond (formerly known as GoAnimate) are the two most commonly used online video animation software applications. Herein lies the difference between the two, ruling out which is the better option.
Part1. Best Alternative to PowToon / Vyond (formerly known as GoAnimate)
VideoScribe, launched by the UK company Sparkol in 2012 and attracted more than a quarter of a million users in over 135 countries globally by April 2014, offers the best alternative to PowToon/GoAnimate.
VideScribe is a desktop whiteboard animation application that must be installed, enabling video presentations to be created both online and offline. Desktop applications allow for a rich environment, offering more advanced features than online applications like PowToon/GoAnimate, thus presentations are given a more professional appearance. On the flip side, online applications need internet connectivity and they do not have a rich environment but they have easy to use, intuitive user interfaces that helps to make creations easier and faster.

Most animation software applications give its users varying monthly subscription plans. VideoScribe not only offers its users a monthly subscription plan, but it also offers its users the option to purchase a licensed copy, which is more cost effective and the biggest advantage it has over its competitors.
Part 2. PowToon vs GoAnimate: A Head to Head Comparison#1. Creation process
The Developers of PowToon has implemented many powerful tutorials that can make anyone a pro within no time, whether they are tech savvy or not, or have little or no experience in design. Their user interface is simple and easy to use, with layout and editing features similar to PowerPoint.
PowToon tutorials guide users step-by-step through each function integrated into the intuitive interface, making it extremely user friendly.
GoAnimate functions much in the same intuitive manner, optimizing its flow through its video editor. Each step is guided one after the other, first initiating a prompt for the user to create a background, then inserting the characters and laying out the movements and actions within the scene, followed by external objects or pros and the final step is the text overlay. This optimized flow diminishes the need to go back and forth during creation.
#2. Features
No need to be artistic, PowToon and GoAnimate provides its users with an assortment of background templates, characters, objects and pictures that can be manipulated to create a video or presentation. External objects and elements can be uploaded to add your own special branding. Pre-made elements cannot be edited but both applications include a built-in image library with hundreds of options to choose from.
They also have a built-in music library with hundreds of soundtracks from a wide range of genres, to add to your creation. Additionally, there is a voice-over tool to enable users to record their voice during creation.
How Is Powtoon Different From Powerpoint
These features make it easy for users to create content whether they are artistic or not, yet allowing them the opportunity to portrait their own personal design style by choosing their own preferences.

#3. Pricing and plans
Vijeo designer software trial download. PowToon can be used free of charge, obviously offering less functionality than their three paid plans, Pro, Pro+ and Agency.
Compared to other free online video animated software application packages, PowToon’s free plan is the most robust, giving its users free access to soundtracks and images, 100MB of storage space and up to 5 exports. Videos are limited to a 5-minute length but if you are willing to have their logo watermarked into your creation, then you can use this free plan for as long as you like.
To remove the watermarked logo, you can opt to pay $8 per export or sign up for one of their monthly plans. The Pro plan starts at $19 per month and the Pro+ plan starts at $59 per month, while the Agency plan is billed yearly at $99 per month.
GoAnimate on the other hand has a limited 14-day free trial plan in addition to three paid plans, GoPublish, GoPremium and GoTeam.
The 14-day trial allows you unlimited access to create videos using their software but all videos will be watermarked and there is no facility available to export the video. The only advantage of using this plan is that users have the ability to understand and create videos before they shell out money to pay for it.
To be able to retrieve your video, i.e. export the video, users are required to subscribe for one of the monthly plans. GoPublish is available at $39 per month / $299 per year, GoPremium costs $79 per month / $599 per year and GoTeam starts at $159 / $999 per year (1 seat or multi seat).
Overall, the most budget-friendly of the two animated video software applications is PowToon which offers both the creation and export of videos free of charge as compared to GoAnimate which only offers creation but no exports.
#4. Export and Share
PowToon videos and presentations can be exported or shared using 3 methods:
GoAnmiate paid users can download their finished creation in MP4 and GIF file formats or exported directly to video hosting sites such as YouTube, Wistia and Vidyard.
Needless to say, PowToon has more options over sharing and exporting than GoAnimate but they both have varying file format options. Users have to decide which format they need before they can decide on which application is more suitable.
Part3. PowToon vs GoAnimate – What to Choose?
Given the comparison made of the two packages, the conclusion was narrowed to good and bad. The bad conclusion reveals that the winner of the two comparisons cannot be decided while the good conclusion divulges that the user will not be disappointed with choosing either PowToon or GoAnimate. Luckily, they both offer free plans, one limited to a specified duration, but still free to explore and create videos while getting a feel and understanding of which product is more suitable.
